About PDT&T

The PDT&T Working Group was formed within AMRCC to foster advanced manufacturing and engineering in Iowa. The goal of this group is to assess needs and identify the advanced technologies used in product development and manufacturing that have the most benefit to Iowa manufacturers and assist in making them more accessible within Iowa to increase competitiveness.

The purpose of this homepage is to provide an informal environment for researching and discussing what product development tools and technologies are important to Iowa manufacturers and how to become more acquainted with them. The working group is also eager to assist manufacturers with technical issues and identify opportunities to foster advanced technologies in Iowa.

The PDT&T Working Group's first activity was monitoring and mentoring the AMRCC Rapid Prototyping project and promoting group demonstrations. Roundtable meetings were also held with Iowa manufacturers where technology topics were presented and discussed. It was at these roundtables where the need for this AMRCC website was discovered. Future events under consideration are seminars and technology demonstrations based upon feedback from Iowa companies as well as identifying another possible demonstration project.

Iowa companies are encouraged to use this resource regularly and to submit comments, questions and suggestions. Contribution of articles on technology topics, such as those included here, are welcome as well as placing your company's contact information and services provided on our manufacturers list.

When reviewing the information included in these pages, please keep in mind that the PDT&T Working Group members are not necessarily experts in the topics covered. Our goal is to present these topics to hopefully stimulate ideas and solutions. Also, any reference made by the PDT&T Working Group to a commercial product or service provider is not an endorsement of that product or service. It is meant only as reference to communicate an idea.
